Deleting of unused or redundant Stock

Deleting of unused or redundant Stock

Overview:

It is possible to delete stock items for IQ POS, IQ Enterprise and IQ Business in a effort to maintain your Stock Master File.

There are rules that needs to be followed before the system will allow you to delete a stock item.

Security

Deleting items should only be done by authorized persons and security should be configured for any user that should not be able to delete stock items.

Transactions

The item/s that you want to delete can not have any transactions in the current month.

To assist in finding items that can be deleted we created a article to help find slow moving or redundant stock with can be found here

Stock Month End

Transactions can not be in the current stock transaction file and thus a stock month end must have been preformed at some point after the item\s last transactions and the current month in with the item is being deleted.

We have created a article on how to preform a stock month end and it can be found here.

Related Documents

There should not be any Purchase Orders, Quotes, Sales Orders or Job Cards linked to these items. This can be checked in visible fields or in stock enquiries for the item:

On hand

The stock on hand on any item/s must be zero (0) for the system to allow deletion of the item.

Note [!]

If you adjust the on hand of the item today you will only be able to delete the item next month after a stock month end has been preformed.

Tip [!]

We recommend that all items that you want to delete be placed on hold through out the system to ensure that no transactions are processed to the item prior to deletion.
