Question:We have noticed that for a specific stock item, the cost price differs from the value shown under the “Recommended Retail Based On” section.
Could you please explain why the Sell Price 3 markup percentage is displaying a negative figure in the example below?
Explanation:
The “Recommended Retail Based On” section is purely for informational and indicative purposes.
The system does not use this cost value; instead, it relies on the FIFO cost levels displayed under the Stock Movement tab.

In principle, this option is intended as a tool to help determine the Recommended GP%.
Recommendation:
We recommend not using this method to calculate your recommended retail price, as it may lead to confusion.
If you need to determine the cost price of an item, please use the Stock Movement tab, which provides the accurate FIFO cost.
We have requested IQ/ERP Go to investigate whether this tool can be made more user-friendly and intuitive going forward.
